Molyneux: Gaming in 2009 ‘looking a bit dry’

Being brutally honest, Lionhead Studios' own Peter Molyneux gave BBC his industry predictions for 2009 and, truthfully, isn't really all that excited.

"Next year [2009], well, it's all looking a bit dry," admitted Peter Molyneux, adding that "all the triple A titles came out this Christmas." Continuing his lack of 2009 optimism rant, Molyneux mentioned that "there is stuff in 2010 we can look forward to, off the top of my head I cannot think of anything next year that really excites me." Well sir, with the utmost respect, we do not agree.

Microsoft wants Radiant Silvergun XBLA remake

Author: Dustin Burg  |  Category: Xbox Articles

Chatting with Gamasutra, Treasure CEO Masato Maegawa revealed that Microsoft has been trying to win over their hearts, gifting them chocolates and giving massages all in an effort to bring the Saturn's Radiant Silvergun to the Xbox Live Arcade. Kidding about the chocolates and massages.

Though, Maegawa makes it clear that even though Microsoft wants a remake that he and Treasure have yet to decide if they want to bring Radiant Silvergun love to the XBLA. Why wouldn't they? Well, Maegawa says that it'd take a lot of dev time to make it work on the 360 and he admits that "it's certainly aged in assorted ways, and I'm not sure they're all good." We were under the impression that aged Radiant Silvergun is like a fine wine. It only gets better years down the road.

Shipping this week: Nothing edition

Author: Richard Mitchell  |  Category: Xbox Articles

It's another one of those weeks. You know the kind, the kind where nothing new releases on the Xbox 360. These weeks serve a double purpose. On one hand, they remind us of the sad emptiness that is life. That keeps us grounded. On the other hand, the help us remember release filled weeks gone by and also help us to look forward to happier, brighter weeks on the horizon. This week, grab your old games, hug them close and know that there will come a day when new games will flow once again.

Fallout 3 Collector’s Edition for $50 at Amazon today

Author: Richard Mitchell  |  Category: Xbox Articles

If you've yet to explore the not quite barren wastelands of Fallout 3, today might just be the day to get started. Amazon is currently offering the collector's edition of Fallout 3 for $49.98, just over $30 less than the retail price of $79.99. Lest you've forgotten, the collector's edition comes with a Vault Boy bobblehead, a 100 page art book, a making-of DVD and a sweet metal lunchbox (It also includes the game, which is important). If that sounds just a bit too paltry for your expensive taste, Amazon is also offering its exclusive Survival Edition for $109.98, a $20.01 savings over the regular price. The Survival Edition includes all the extras of the collector's edition, with the addition of a replica Pip-Boy digital clock.

Like we said, if you've been waiting to get Fallout 3, nabbing the collector's edition for less than the standard edition is a pretty sweet deal.

[Thanks, Alex]

This Wednesday, January 7th, TikGames' investigative puzzler Interpol: The Trail of Dr. Chaos will be making its way to the Xbox Live Arcade. Please, hold your thunderous applause and ear deafening whistles of excitement.

The 800 Microsoft point Interpol is a puzzler-style game at its core, coming complete with detective work, seek and uncover missions, clue searching and plenty of mini games. It does boast four player co-op, but we aren't sure if you'll be able to find three other folks to play with. Only kidding (no we aren't).

Forza 3 artwork all but confirms game’s existence

Author: Dustin Burg  |  Category: Xbox Articles

Kaarbo Designs, a company sub-contract by Microsoft Game Studios to create menu assets for all previous Forza Motorsport titles, has gotten a bit ahead of themselves in terms of revealing the project they just finished. That project being Forza Motorsport 3.

Yes sir, listed under their website's clients section are a few Forza 3 posters (now removed, but preserved by Forzacentral) that sorta prove that the yet to be officially announced racing title is real and in development by Turn 10. You can even sneak a peek at the threequel's logo on the upper left of each poster.

Interestingly enough, Kaarbo mentions that the asset posters (galleried below) are not their templetes, "are only samples and are not to be used" in any Forza title. They're still pretty, though, so check 'em out below.
